I had a digital rebel for many years. Just up graded to this new model. I took a few test shots. My computer will not see the RAW images. I was able to see them off my last camera. Do I need download something to see them?

I am not sure the issue is the computer as it was put. I believe both newer windows 10 and mac OS see raw files alright. Is your issue that you looking in the file folder can see the .cr2 file preview of the old camera files but not the new camera files?

Or is this an issue reading the file from your software that you use?

The reason that I ask is that Camera Raw is versioned, my 5d4 files are not read buy my older Photoshop and LR versions. I have been using these as they are retail and I held out on subscribing to the creative cloud. Problem is that to going support from cameras 2016 - present you need to go to the creative cloud for updated camera raw versions which update when new cameras are released. So It works fine for my old 5d2, but not my new camera.

The work around is to conver the new files from canon raw to adobe DNG for use with PS/LR in the meantime. I am still on the fence.

Thank you. I did try to edit my original thread to give it more information but it did not allow me to. Yes I can not see the new .cr2 Raw files from the new camera. I can see the movies I took. I would take my RAW images and drop them in Photoshop. I am like you and do not have a new version which is the iCloud based. That is interesting information. I might not have been to quick to get another camera if I was going to have to start upgrading everything as you can imagine. For now how do I convert the new files to the DNG so I can start playing with them in my current photoshop? Thanks in advance.
