This months photo topic is "Opposites", happy shooting!

    Again, the rules are simple:
    • Should be be using some canon gear , this is a canon forum after all.
    • Shot with the assignment in mind, go out and shoot something new don't dig up something from the archives.
    • and most importantly have fun.

Apologies for this image not being shot with a Canon (iPhone 6), but I was out shopping this morning saw the sign and thought of this months competition.
Social distancing is still being enforced downunder.

Hi Grumpy, not sure you would have seen this little photo association thread we have going on
    https://www.canonforums.com/threads/the-photo-association-game.4770/
i'm wondering if it would be better off pinned or moved to the official (i know its not proper official) to stop it disappearing into the void.

Was my last image a little hard to follow on from? If someone would post another image on that thread, we should be good to go again.

It would still be nice to see some participation in this thread though. There's not much incentive for the Admin/Mod team to come up with a challenge when the participation rate is so poor :(.

If you don't spot anything interesting that fits the bill though, it's hard to join in. It's not for the want of looking on my part, more the want of seeing/lack of imagination.

My idea of opposites is "hot and cold".

We are in the middle of winter, so we often we have the fire going (a real fire), so that is the hot. I made a small ice cream in a cone (cold) and then I had a mad rush to grab the image before the ice cream started to melt. I kind of succeeded. I was hoping for a few more flames, but I like the flame that I got as it looks as if it is coming out of the top of the ice cream.

The technical details. Tip Top ice cream, raspberry ripple flavour.

This month was another nut cracker, for the life of me I was struggling to come up with something original, no cars going in opposite directions, signs etc.
I have come up with something but have resorted to Photoshop.
Please excuse the image as I run out of time to feather the edges and do the fine completion work.
I have resorted to Photoshop as I believe it is part of image production in photography.
Plus nothing is gained if you do not try something out of the box.
I present opposites in nature, coloured vs man made, black and white. opposites.jpg in

The one i had in mind to do and might at a later date was a pic of my widest lens and most telephoto each shot by the other.

thanks, loads of ideas, a month seems so short sometimes, currently making some light stands for home so i can feel more like i can do stuff creative.
i do have a couple of ideas for a subject matter but i'm going to see what someone else comes up with.

I start thinking about ideas once the theme has been announced. Then life gets in the way, and it's a rush at the end of the month to sort something out and submit it.

You can't not get one in at the pub.

But it is nice to get pushed outside of your comfort zone every now and then.
