Finally a day in Tasmania when it was not windy and pouring with rain and I took my camera out with me, this is my friends new fur child, his name is Samuel and he is a Miniature-Labra doodle.
If you look closely at the image it is a little on the soft side, time to adjust my lens as it has done this on a number of images. Samuel sitting.jpg

Samuel's owner is Deaf and can not hear when some-one is at the door, his actions let her know when someone is there and he is very quiet, does not bark very much, which is a good thing as the lady in the unit next door is grumpy.

Caladina, if you check the grass this is out of focus. At F16 I am getting similar results and I have not had the time to go into fixing the focus issue.

I did notice that the grass behind Samuel was in focus.

It is not out very much but I notice it when I blow the image up to it's full limit, It is enough to annoy me I will research how to test later on, it is not something I have done so it may be interesting.

It already has, first time was the starter motor, took 3 weeks to get fixed, then the water pump died. this only took 2 weeks. My timber was delivered today. The last time I saw the truck was going down the street and it was belching a bit of smoke so the resource center could be up for another truck soon.

You've definitely got a focus issue Craig. Is it a lens problem. Also, I am interested to know why you used f:16 for that type of shot? and what were the other settings? There's no exif data on the image. Cheers.

I had problems with the lens before, I had tried to tidy up in Photoshop, I was about 4 meters away as a rough guess, my reason for F16 was at 4 meters, this should have given me a good depth of field, I am pressed for time at the moment so adjusting will be put off till when I get a bit of free time, I am digging trenches for the drainage pipes off of my shed, between rain showers and the occasional bit of dry weather and when the drench has not filled with water, ready for council inspection, These pack of rouges want me to pay a plumber to inspect the work and then I have to pay the council engineer to come out and inspect it. I am only tapping into a existing drain off of my house.

I hope you get the trenches my friend, I know what you're going through with the bureaucracy.
I would have used f:5.6 or max f:8 for that shot with spot focus on the eyes, but to each his own that's just me.
This is the settings I used for this shot:
    Canon EOS 7D Mark II / 1/800th.sec / f/5.6 / ISO 2500 / Manual /Metering Mode: Spot / 100 mm / TAMRON 18-400mm F/3.5-6.3

That's a cute little dog you have there, other than the lens issue I could work with the dog but his owner constantly was getting her shadow on the animal and could not understand why I wanted her to move, the dog made his own mid up and moved , they say never work with animals and kids, they should also include dog owners,

He's a friends dog, a toy poodle and he's adorable! I own a panda faced cavoodle and he's also adorable. I coached junior football so I can understand the parent thing. :)

I know where you are coming from, when I was 16, I coached a under 9 soccer team.
