    Hi All,

I just started my coin collection and I wish to post photos on the Web. However, I realize that the photos of my coins must be of primo quality because you never get a second chance to make a 1st impression.

I own a Canon sx160 is and i purchased because it could largely operate as point 'n shoot camera, however., it does have advanced capabilities and would welcome pointers from folks that have much more experience than what I do.

My gut instinct tells me the settings encountered in the "P" shooting mode is where I should look for success. Yet and still, there are so many and I must admit I am lost in the woods.

I would appreciate tour help and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Well hello, I have a coin collection myself although its very small. I shoot to keep a record of the coins, I shoot in (M) manual mode and adjust the lighting to suit.

Hi, thanks for your input. Would you care to share any specific details as to how you go about it? Perhaps I could replicate your process at home.

    Thanks!

I have a small table-top studio platform and a bunch of lights. Its just a simple assemblage I put together from things I bought at the local home improvement store. As far as the settings in the camera I make the necessary adjustments on the fly so-to-speak.

    A little Canon stuff

Not really. The aim is to help people, not deflate them. Post away, and if someone can help you, they will.
