i'm guessing it would be possible for an R-M adapter to exist, it might need glass in it as both systems would have a similar flange to focal plane? the glass would allow the adapter the thickness for any electrical connections to run through and a optical funneling like a speed booster?
Just by having a rummage around on the net, I have found that the M system has a flange distance of 18mm, and the RF system is 20mm. So yes, I guess it is possible without any glass being needed. If anyone will actually make one who knows. Do you have your eye on an RF lens? And if so, which one? Gary
the 800mm would be the one but i doubt the smaller crop of the m mount would handle the F11 any where as well as the full frame sensors and the R camera higher software/hardware was more my thunks escaping into the wild
Time to dust off that parrot suit. I know that it doesn't help, but is there not a RF mount aps-c camera on it's way? Or you could dip your toe in the RF mount FF line. Remember that the rotund bloke in the red suit will be visiting you soon. So long as you have been good. Gary
i'm pretty happy with my M50, i probably will at some point have a ff R for the better low light performance, not so much for night time/ interior stuff but the ability to drop a few light stops using long lenses so iso's can be lower. i have quite a few lenses and solutions to make good of anything under the 400mm but its the wildlife 600mm+ where you need to be hitting faster F stops and good af.
