    Great effort! All good photos. I do like the Mono one - it's perfect for adding just a bit of "grunge" effect. What editing software do you use?

    You are very kind and thanks for the reply. If you want good lightning shots, use a tripod with a shutter release. Use your 18-55 lens set to infinity and put your 7D onto "BULB" mode. Use the widest (18mm) and when you know the strike is about to happen, hold the shutter open. As soon as you see the strike, close the shutter. I have a pretty steady hand so I don't use a tripod. Because the strikes are so fast you don't get blur. All done!
    With the BW image this is how I would give it some punch. All easy in CS6.
