This months photo topic is "Holidays". I wanted to keep it pretty simple as everyone is busy this time of year and some are still locked down with covid more than others. This time of year looks different for everyone, should be fun to see the range in submissions.

    Happy shooting!

    Again, the rules are simple:
    • Should be be using some canon gear , this is a canon forum after all.
    • Shot with the assignment in mind, go out and shoot something new don't dig up something from the archives.
    • and most importantly have fun.

OH! i nearly forgot, as its december and the last month this year there is the bonus round as well, see if you can combine as many subjects from this year into a single image, in camera image would be preferred :)

not sure if admin want to add this 2021 bonus round as a separate thread in the comps or just let it run with the december thread.

Caladina, I don't think admin will go for it butttt, why don't you start one yourself and see if there are others who will join in, it would be no different than any other subject that gains popularity within the forum.

As a newbie to this forum and new to my beloved mirrorless cannon (previously DSLR Pentax)... I love this challenge. I may just give it a "shot" as a snowy day project.

Christmas Still life. Practicing with different lighting techniques. As a beginner I have little gear to work with, so each composition is a Rube Goldberg of lights and homemade filters... I am enjoying myself immensely and my xmas Wishlist is growing. lol.

Roxi, welcome to the forum, I hope you have fun in this forum. The photographs you have submitted follow the suggested theme, and show great accomplishment, highlighting the colors of the subjects.

Roxi, if we did not try new ideas and ways of doing thing, our photography would get a bit boring, nice image.

You are doing better than myself. I am hopeful that the grey overcast weather actually clears that we seem to have, and I am able to get out and about..

Another nice image, by the way.

Last Sunday the 12th, in the morning, I took the opportunity to go out to photograph in the center of Barcelona. I fulfilled two objectives, to go out on a holiday, Sunday, and see how the streets of Barcelona were when Christmas approaches.

I started the tour and the first thing I saw is some musicians preparing to perform.

In the tour of the center last Sunday Mercat de Sta.jpg Estrella de Belén 2.jpg Parada en Mercat de Sta. Llucía 2h.jpg , I went to the esplanade of the Cathedral where the famous Santa Lucia Christmas Market is located, it was quite lively, despite it was early.

One of the best things to do on a holiday is a walk on the beach, and if it is so beautiful, all the better. I wish you and your loved ones have a good year 2022.
