5D w/M42 type lenses

    Has anyone ever mounted M42 type lenses on a Canon 5D, or similar type camera before? If so, what type of adapter did you use? Too many for me to sort out by myself. Did you get good results? Reason for my question is from my film (mamiya/sekor 1000dtl) days. I just don’t know what to do with the following lenses besides either selling them or leaving them in a box in the basement. Hoping someone has already gone through this before. Looking for insight here.

    Mamiya/Sekor 55mm f/1.8 M42 MF Lens
    Mamiya/Sekor 200mm f/3.5 M42 MF Lens
    Mamiya Sekor 400mm f/6.3 M42 Telephoto MF Lens

    Ashi Super - Takumar 1.8 / 55mm,
    the M42 mount lenses were designed for mirrored cameras so your adapter should just be a flat pate with the appropriate mountings
    there are two types for M42 to EF, flanged and non flanged, i would go with the flanged one as there are some M42 mount lenses that have a pin that needs to be pushed in when it screws into the lens mount

    others can confirm this as i'm on ef-m so i use the adapter which has the mirrorbox spacing included for the correct lens to sensor distance
    have a look on Ebay for M42 to EF adapter

    you may need to go into your settings and activate " release shutter without lens" so that the camera will take an image when it thinks there is no lens attached as most if not all M42 lenses have no electrical contacts

    60D, 10D, 50D 1dmark3, T70, AV1, lenses ranging from 28mm to 600 mm, canonet Junior, Canonet QL 25, Mamiya C3 and 3 lens sets,Mamiya 645 pro TL and 3 lenses. Pentax MG and various lenses, Toyoview 4 * 5 inch large format camera,Calimat C1 8*10 inch ultra large format camera.
    I have used them om full frame, crop c and converting from one film camera to another make, as Caladina said, flanged is preferable. On
    digital make sure you use a camera with live view so you can fine focus.
