Per suggestion, this months photo challenge is "Signs of Life".

    Happy shooting!

    Again, the rules are simple:
    • Should be be using some canon gear , this is a canon forum after all.
    • Shot with the assignment in mind, go out and shoot something new don't dig up something from the archives.
    • and most importantly have fun.

First cab off the rank again, This image was taken at the Salmon Ponds at Plenty, Tasmania. This place was built for the first Salmon and trout brought into the state in the early 1800s. This particular building was built later in the 20th centry for the use of tourists and worker alike. IMG_0115.JPG

A place sure to bring a sigh of relief to many folks - unless the cone is blocking the way. A nicely composed image Craig with the shadows adding more interest to the image.

Neat photo, Caladina. The out of focus background does not detract from the main element in the image. Fits in nicely with this month's challenge.

I like the natural 'Starburst' effect of the leaves with the cones seemingly bursting out into the foreground.

Hey guys, and gals! I'm new here, and to the whole world of photography in general. I am learning more and more everyday, and still trying to figure out how to upload post, and such to this forum. This photo was shot in Prattville, AL with a Canon R8 using a Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM Lens. I hope you all enjoy as much as I do.

Welcome and a lovely image to start with but I'm puzzled by those disconcerting 'things' in the petals, they look remarkably like mini-matchsticks, what on earth are they?

Great question, I wish I had more information for you, and for myself on what they actually are. I have seen several other photos on the internet with the same "matchstick" looking items. I think they just fall off of the bud once the flower is mature enough. To me they make the shot that much better. Also, Thank you for the kind welcome/words.
