So my SD/CF card reader has USB connectivity and my current TV (Samsung) has only HDMI as far as I can tell. Any options that might be available ??
A card reader is designed to copy files to computer not be a display medium. Your camera should have HDMI Output for direct display on a tv/monitor if you simply want large preview. You cant easily convert usb to hdmi like your implying nor do you need to that I can see.
You're right, I forgot about the HDMI on my 5D. Also, I was wrong on my Samsung TV, it does in fact have a usb port so I will give it a try later. FWIW my older Panasonic plasma TV down in my 'man cave' has a bit in SD card reader that does a credible job. My whole reason for this is I'm wrestling with wanting to provide a large display for viewing for my digital photography in order to mirror(somewhat) my film days in which I shot primarily slides.
That makes sense, you should be able to post a folder full of edited images on the SD or better yet a USB stick and just have the TV do a Picture view slideshow. The USB could be left in all day. Best to omit the card reader and camera altogether in that case.
