I've been wanting to get a shutter count on my 7D Mark II and tried several of the softwares that I find online. None of them work. I've tried EOSinfo, Freeshuttercount, Camerashuttercount and others. None of them will give me a shutter count. Any verified idea of what will work? Or am I doing something wrong?

Sounds like something called gphoto and also Astro photography tool you may have good luck with? I'm sure each of the software you have listed support different cameras from different brands and processors. I'm sure you have the latest version, but older versions probably have been updated to add cameras. Not something I can trouble shoot, because I really never saw the need to know my shutter count, and haven't used any of these programs.
If your buying used, someone has taken thousands of photos on that used body, if the camera looks like it has been cared for I would say your fine. The ones with 80k shutter count are going to look like they were used heavy as well. Find a good deal, buy, enjoy, and don't worry about when it will die. I surely don't, and have many older film cameras which would need to be sent to a specialist to service, and i bet parts are getting hard to find.

Hello Steve, you might want to consider researching on Youtube for your specific camera. I have had pretty good luck learning how to ascertain shutter counts on many of my digital bodies. Hope this helps. TT
