When I change the self-timer to continuous to take pictures of live action (i.e. sporting events) and push the button to start taking pictures, it does a 10-second countdown first. I can change the number of pictures it continuously takes, but not the countdown. Is there a way to change the number of seconds on the countdown or even turn it off (preferred)?
Randy, I don't own a T5, so I looked on You tube and typed in "taking multiple shots with the rebel t5". There is a very good clip there on your camera, hope it helps.
Nope the timer is programmed in to the continuous, and time between shots is defendant on if flash is used and needs cycling time. The use for continuous like this I can see for group shots and you want to burst a number and hopefully get some natural expressions on faces, the 10 sec is good for run in and settling down of the crowd. There is a a two second option outside of continuous that is good for long exposures where you just want to be sure that no camera hake from the shutter affects the shot. I am very curious what advantage are you getting to using the timer for sports/action?? Generally I would look at using servo mode and tracking the shot with the action as I look through the viewfinder and bursting the shutter as needed.
