    Thanks Isac, this time the bird was close enough and the light was good enough to pick up the details.

    It's always nice when that happens. At our lake the ducks come right up close (food driven of course) but not the herons and egrets. We don't see the grey heron here but plenty of white faced herons. They do present themselves as good photo subjects.

    Great shot. I see loads of herons, but none close enough to get a pic that good.

    Most of the bird photos I've taken have been at a nature reserve fairly local to me that has bird hides for public use situated in good viewing spots, unfortunately since the Covid 19 restrictions the hides have been closed which has restricted the amount of good spots for getting shots and it has now become a bit more pot luck whether you see anything in range.
