    Evening all!
I have a canon 2000D and 2 speedlites (the 550Ex and the 430Ex) both work great on the camera. The question is I would like to use them OFF camera. As the 2000D doesn't have the centre pin on the hotshoe what is the best way to trigger the speedlites as not all trigger remotes are compatible (Im on a tight budget).

    Any help appreciated.

I believe the ST E2 is compatible. You should be able to use most optical trigger systems that are available as, but I would venture you may run into some comparability problems with a 3 generation old flash and the newer triggers firmware. For example you may be able to shoot with some newer options but not have ETTL. Hopefully we have a few guys on here that have taken those flashes off camera and can speak first hand their experience. In any event you may be having to dig into threads that are 15 years old around the net to see what everyone was using.

Brilliant, thanks. Will have a search on here.
