I have a PowerShot SX70 HS, I was able to upload over wifi to my PC (Windows 10), but for some reason I can't anymore. If I go into my camera to delete my photos, it says: sending, please wait File name (doesn't show any) Images remaining ( doesn't show anything). I have to hit Stop, then it says Stop sending images? Unsent images will be sent next time. The little light on top of my camera used to blink fast when it was uploading, it no longer does that. My wifi password has not changed. I have purchased a card reader, but it does not stay connected, and it starts to load, then stops, and when it starts again, I end up with double or triple photos. This is a pain when I may have more than a hundred photos to go through to sort and delete extras. Plus over wifi it would sort into different folders by date taken, the card reader doesn't do that, so I have to manually put them into folders. I would really love to have my wifi issue fixed! Thank you !
Welcome to the forum Barbara, may I suggest you direct your enquirey to Johnsey as he is very knowledgeable in this area.
I do not have any hands on with your exact camera but there are a few things I can help with suggesting. https://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/1/0300032371/03/pssx70hs-ug3-en.pdf is you user manual https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/...meras/powershot-sx70-hs?tab=drivers_downloads is the canon page with your most recent downloads Your folder structure is a setting in the transfer utility on the computer not something controlled by the camera. The transfer utility was last updated in Oct 2020, have you updated to the newest version? You can check the version number in the program against the one on canon website. The Wireless connection between the camera and computer requires the utility to be ruining and see the camera on the wifi. It sounds like the camera is connecting to wifi to me but I am not positive. If it was me i would remove the wifi connection from the camera so you can set up as new. I would update the utility to the newest version if it has not been. If camera firmware is not up to date I would also do that. Then I would establish a new connection to the wifi like you have done before after clearing the old connection. As in the manual you have steps to follow where you need to load the utility. Also.... In the short term you should be able to transfer images with the transfer utility using the USB cable as well instead of the card reader, it is slower but will manage the folders as setup using the settings control panel in the program. I personally use only a card reader but that is because I want to control the folders myself and also it is faster for me than going through cable or wireless transfer; it is all personal preference really.
Just to add a suggestion, have you updated Windows? It seems strange that both ways of downloading images are not working. Plus one of the methods that you are using is not camera related. Gary
