    Hi,
When buying lenses do you stay with Canon or buy other manufacturers?

This is very much personal preference, there are several users on here which like to adapt lenses not only from other manufacturers but other mounts as well. While others will stay brand loyal. Obviously compatibility plays a factor here.
If your asking regarding lenses made for your camera mount, there are some gems from everyone so it depends a lot on the lens, larger brands like sigma you will find are quite competitive with companies like Canon/Nikon/Zeiss for quality and consistency. You really need to look at the lens it self and compare it to its peers.

Sigma 100-400c ef, Sigma 18-35mm art ef,
    7artisans 7.5mm m, Laowa 100mm macro ef, laowa 9mm zeroD m, Vintage M42 Lenses:
    Ashi Super - Takumar 1.8 / 55mm,
i have canon, sigma, laowa and 7artisans in the ef / ef-m modern lenses and several vintage lenses i got to use on my current eos camera, mostly from takumar but i have a few others
it comes down to a few things, nowadays i figure out what focal length and ƒ stop i want then see what is available, size and weight of the lens also plays a part in which way i go, depending if i want it as a companion lens to a bigger one or a main big lens.
one on my next lenses will be a sigma 150mm- 600mm

I used to buy Sigma & Tamron lenses to save some money. I was always pleased with my shots. I had no problems with them, until a friend let me use his Canon lens. I could see a sharpness & vignetting. Then I broken down and got my 1st lens of the Holy Trinity of lens. I now only buy the Canon lens. I saw a you tube video where the guy said "buy the best glass you can afford & upgrade when you are ready". Most lens hold their value very well if you take can of them and you can re-sale.
