Hi all, I've been doing photography as a hobby for about a year now. And recently I went on a trip to the Mornington Peninsula, an absolutely gorgeous place. All of these shots were taken at Cape Schanck. If I could get some comment & criticism, that would be greatly appreciated. Like all the images. #2 and #3 are a bit unusual for me in the sense of orientation (cropping). Is the deep cyon color of water and sky in #5 how it looked to you?
Thank you for the feedback Sundar. In terms of cropping, only the 1st, 3rd (light crop, same aspect ratio), and 4th (heavy crop, 16:7, a bit unconventional I know) have some cropping applied. And the 5th is quite similar to how I remember it in regard to colour. Although I do take some creative liberties rather than preserving realism.
It looks as if you have a fantastic place to go and visit. That helps. I like the series you have taken. When I look at the first one, I think of adding a ND10 filter. The next three mono shots I would lift the darks just a little, and I like the last image. Well done. Gary

i really like the style of this image, there seems to some digital break up in parts of it, but that makes it for me, it has the look of an old postcard from the 70'sto me there seems to be a blue cast which again adds to that feeling of an old 70's postcard. weither that is the intention or not doesn't detract from is loveliness for me as the viewer. very nice image
Caladina, you are correct and at first I was reluctant to put it up but I had a play with it and even tried to make a black and white image with similar issues, but it did remind me of some of my parents photos from that era, so I jut went for it and tried to recreate that look. I was not too sure how it would come out as I use a older TV as a computer screen and colours may be out.
Kevin, I have yet to try Sepia but it may be a option in Photoshop or one of the other photo manipulation programs nor on black and white analogue images as it is the first stages of colourizing such prints, if colour is needed I would use colour negatives but one day I may give it a try.
