Hello, my fellow Canon users. I just upgraded my Canon 550D to a Canon 6D Mk II. I have a Tamron 24-70mm (first version, not the G2). I have been reading here and there that the lens might not work with this camera. Is there any truth to that? Is anyone out there using this same camera lens combination having issues or is it working perfectly fine?
Hello Danny and welcome to the forum. I have never heard of this problem, not to say that there is no problem with this body and lens combination. What happens when mount this lens to your 6D Mk ll? Does it work ok? Gary
Seem like it should work without issue, if its this lens.... https://www.tamron-usa.com/product/lenses/a007.html which is a full frame lens and came in options of Canon, Nikon and Sony mounts. Your concerns should mostly be verifying that you do not have a crop sensor lens (EF-S) or with third party lenses I know there are some issues if your get into really old lenses and the chips that were used in them, but I am talking if your pushing 20 years old on a non-canon lens.
