Hi there! I'm really hoping someone has had the same problem as me, and can provide a solution. Recently purchased a new Canon 5D Mark IV DSLR. Shot full RAW on a single card. When I uploaded my images to Adobe Bridge, as I always do, all the shots were triplicated! The root folder I created to upload my files to contains all the images, as expected. However, there are four other folders that are created:
    1) MISC - contains no files
    2) 100EOS5D - contains a copy of all the images
    3) EOSMISC - contains my camera sidecar file (.ctg)
    4) DCIM - contains another folder called 100EOS5D that contains a second copy of all the images, and another folder called EOSMISC, which contains a second copy of my camera sidecar file

Honestly, I don't know if this is a Bridge problem or something to do with my camera settings, so I'm attacking it from both sides. This is first time that I've uploaded something from this camera, so I feel like it could equally be one or there other. Has this happened to anyone else?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Laura, I wish I could help. The same is happening to mine. I've tried changing the Record func + card/folder sel. but files are still in triplicate. Have you learned anything new since 1st post?

I have not seen this happen, i also have not used adobe bridge in 15 years.
The only duplicates i have are the raw + jpg that are selected options when I shoot.

Have you made sure to have the most recent firmware on camera and the proper EOS utility version for copying the files to your computer?

Hi Eric. Unfortunately, no, I'm no closer to a solution. Are you also using Bridge? If not, perhaps this is on the Canon side after all.

Thanks for the comments. I'll check the firmware version, but I don't use any EOS utility to copy my photos - I upload them directly using Bridge and a card reader. Could that affect something?

I think the problem is with Bridge, that's what I used to upload the images to the computer. So yesterday I tried simply highlighting the files on the card when it's in the reader, copying, then paste in destination file on computers hard drive. Then there is no triplicate. I'll look further today following johnsey's suggestion to see if I have the "proper EOS utility version". I had been using Bridge 2022. When I had an older version, I didn't have this problem. The number of files gets quickly messy and complicated.

Thanks johnsey, I see, you are suggesting using the canon utility to upload images. Makes sense. My cameras firmware version is 1.3.3. I'm using mac. Bridge version is: 12.0.0.234, all up to date. The problem seems to be with Bridge, so I'll use the canon utility from now on. Just a small change of habit. Thanks.
