I just got my Canon CPS membership in the mail and have been looking at some of the events they have scheduled and was wondering if anyone has been to one?

They have one next month only forty five minutes away from me, it's a Great Portraits In Any Light class with Rudy Winston and Eric Stoner. It's not really the type of shooting I do, I prefer wildlife but thought it could be a great chance to learn something new.

I only have one Canon lens right now, 600 F4 so I would have to buy or rent a lens for this class. I was only planning on using Canon for my long lens shooting and keep my Pentax K1 for the short stuff so renting would probably be the best way to go.

Also has anyone done the one on one training class? They have them at the US headquarters in Melville NY. It's a couple hour drive for me but it might be a better way for me to go learning a new system.

I haven't attended these. Similar to you, I shoot both Pentax and Canon with a better selection of Pentax glass and older Canon gear.
If you attend, let us know how it goes.

Definitely let us know if you do decide to go to one of the events. It would be cool for people who don't have the CPS membership (like me).

I wasn't able to make it to the class in Philly, I had to work that day but I am going up to Canon USA headquarters in Melville NY on the 24th of October for a hour and a half one on one session.

I've had my Canon gear for 3 months now and I'm familiar enough now I think that getting this training class will benefit me more now than if I took it right away.
