Hi to everyone , i am new to this forum just wondering if anyone else has had problems with a 90D love the camera but the rubber hand grip is peeling off i've only had this camera for just under a year, i feel this is not acceptable considering the price of the camera, i have cameras from the 50s which still have the original covering !

plain and simple, "they don't make them like they used to"
My M50 has the start of some lifting in a couple of spots, super glue is the answer, i've seen some worse ones etc, i've not used the 90D but i imagine its the same thing.
I have vintage lenses from the 50's-70's in great condition and other various items, most modern stuff is built as a throw away or recyclable item these days.

the rubbers on camera grips can suffer swelling from finger oils too when the start peeling up, if you are going to super glue it make sure it still fits where its supposed to, might need a trim or like mine its at the thin part between two buttons so i'd need to slice the section, super glue one side down then cut a small piece out to take up the overlap..................or i will replace the cover with the one from a parts camera i bought cheap because i knew i would have mine long after the grips start to fail

Superglue is not a long term answer because it dries hard and rigid preventing the rubber grip from expanding and contracting at different temperatures, eventually it will not adhere to the rubber grip and it is extremely difficult to get off the camera body to replace it. Superglue is also far too runny and could seep through the joints in the camera casing causing other problems.
The ideal adhesive is either a rubber cement or double sided adhesive tape, never ever use superglue for any type of camera repair.

My problem is the cover is coming away around the remote sensor so if i try to glue it will be very hard not to get it on the sensor ? Might see if i can get a new cover, still think its not good on a year old camera though, thanks.

In that case use a good quality double sided adhesive tape, which is usually how the grips are usually fixed during manufacture.

Yea think thats it, may see how hard it will be to peel it off may even try to make a duplicate pattern if it comes off ok ? Cheers

Welcome to the forum, Colin. If you have purchased this camera new, may I suggest you have a talk with your Canon dealer or who you purchased it off. as you said it is not acceptable.

Did try canon uk support days ago but have no reply , gave me a ticket no. And that was it nothing since plus i have found out this is quite common with the 90D ? I have just looked at a cover on ebay but looks like it comes already stuck on a hard plastic section even though it states with adhesive may find out more , i want to keep the camera so would still like it to look good ?
    Thanks.

Update on my 90d, checked out video on you tube how to dismantle camera, bit worried about taking it on but found it easier than I thought ,took various pictures of my camera on various angles so I could put screws on the photos so i would know where the various screws came from, replacement grip was ordered on aliexpress and fitted and very happy with repair, I can see on the older warn part why grip cover has come away from sensor because there is no glue or tape around sensor piece so i added a section of thin double sided tape into square section where sensor fits see old grip that was removed, thanks to everyone who helped.
