Taken minutes before obscured by cloud. SX40 at maximum zoom plus some digital plus some cropping. Shutter 1/125 aperture 5.0 ISO 200
It's not a bad shot. Think of day light photography when shooting the moon. I typically use a higher shutter speed around 400, a f9 aperture, and adjust the ISO accordingly which is usually around 600-800.
I might try that next time, thanks. I keep the ISo low and resolution high if there is a lot of cropping to be done, that way I keep maximum detail. I id ruin a couple of shots however due to camera shake despite being mounted on a tripod and had to resort to the timer.
oh so close with a moon name too, Tycho, nice image, you right to go with base iso as when you are on a tripod you can dial in the exposure with the shutter speed raising the ƒ stop up a bit for the lenses / cameras sharpest sweet spot would be good too, an addition would be to use 4000k white balance if you camera allows you to adjust that nice start though
