It's 5 degrees F right now and it's not going to get above freezing for at least another week.

Full disclosure: I don't own a Canon rig ... yet. I've got my sights set on a 7DII with a long tele zoom once I shed my Pentax gear. I do a lot of indoor action sports photography so I need something with fast, accurate AF and reach. My keeper rate isn't where I want it to be with my K-3. I've taken some good shots, but I've missed a lot because the Pentax AF wasn't cutting it. Everything I've read says the 7DII is the machine to get, mainly because of the 65 cross type AF points.

I also do portraiture work in my small studio. I can see a full frame 6D or 5D in my future if the 7D works out.

I've proactively joined CF in hopes of finding the same great tips, tricks, gear reviews, and marketplace postings that exist on pentaxforums.

I'm looking forward to my Canon journey!
