    A malfunction EOS Rebel T3
Hello friends, im Alison from Chile, im new in this forum (To be honest, is my first time in a forum xd) and i want help with a camera.

My dad had a Canon EOS Rebel T3, and a few months ago stop taking photos, i think is a problem with the sensor or something like that. It seems that is going to be hard or expensive repair that camera, so i want to buy a new camera to my dad birthday.

I need help with a extra hardware he had and i want to know what model of camera is compatible with that pieces, he have a flash "Speedlite 270ex II" and a canon zoom lens "EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III".

Thanks in advance and sorry if i make a mistake writing in english.

Your dads camera, fits into a entry level DSLR from 2011-2013. And you could probably replace it with something a bit newer just as cheap as repair if you shop around, so yes a repair doesn't make sense given its value or its age.

I would suggest getting a newer DSLR if you want to be compatible and still maintain similar functionality. I have linked a Wikipedia page where they have a table at the bottom of all models and timeline and skill/feature level. I would suggest maybe considering moving up to the mid tier if he wants something will more manual customizing which would not be quite so automatic as his t3 rebel. But I doubt you would want to get much more fancier than that.

You may be able to find a good deal on a good working used 700/800/70d or 80d which would be a bit more feature rich than the 2000 which is the newest at the same level as you 1100d (t3 rebel) they have different names between Japan/Europe/ and the US.

You can look up all these cameras from that page to see their features and there are sites that can compare them side by side and review them.

Canon has in the last 5 years really moved to mirror-less bodies and they have new lenses but you should for a few hundred be able to find a great lightly used dslr to work with the gear you have already, and anything below in the screenshot would be 100% compatible
