Hi. I have a Canon EOS M5 that suddenley for no reason wnt dark and can't be turned on? I am thinking about sending it to Canon, but maybe there is a solution here? It hasn't been dropped or bathed in moist.

I no longer have my M5, but this is from the manual - I assume you are confident that you have a good, fully charged battery?

what lens were you using at the time?
i have the M50 and its done similar when i've had a third party lens on it maybe 4-5 times in as many years, not sure if the info between lens and camera gets messed up but my solution has been to remove the lens and battery then reinstall the battery with an efm lens on the body and it seems to work
sometimes i can remove the third party lens then the canon adapter, put the lens and adapter on separately then it works,

Thanks for the answer. I am using the lens that comes with the camera.

Just an update on this: I sent the camera to Canon repair in Sweden. They came back wit an estimate of 844 dollars to fix it. Saying that it is severe moist cause the problem, for the lens to. I wonder if it is possible to repair myself or just let it go?

So, I wonder if I could repair this myself. Casnon in Gøteborg Sweden said that it is some kind of water/damp fault her. What would be the most critical part that should be the forst to be replaced?

All electronics would be critical when it comes to water damage, so PCB seems essential. I wouldn't mess with partial fix.
Personaly is there is water damage, I would worry about it still having glitches after repair. So i would probably replace if the cost to repair is high, i would personally have a hard time paying more than half the value any available camera you can replace easily.

And to that, you list 800 bucks to repair which is actually more than replacement cost here, if the numbers are correct... https://www.amazon.com/Canon-EOS-Mirrorless-Camera-Body/dp/B01LWUQDHJ?th=1
