Pentax but looking to switch to Canon
I'm ready to make the switch from Pentax to Canon for my sports photography. My photography is for highschool sports (indoor and outdoor) mostly just as a hobby and to share pictures with kids and families but I am employed as a freelance photographer for our very small local paper.

I'm looking to purchase the Canon R6 Mark II as it seems to be at the best price point for me. I can't justify the more expensive R3 with the stacked sensor. The 12 FPS mechanical shutter is plenty for me. I also will need to buy a 70-200 2.8 lens to get started and the adapter for the EF lenses. I can't afford or justify the RF lenses.

Does anybody have experience with purchasing used from Adorama? THey have a used one in E (excellent) condition for $1749. I can get refurbished from Canon for $2019. Less than a month ago, Canon had refurbished for $1799. Maybe I wait for a better sale? I'm not in a huge hurry.

Any experience with the R6 for sports photography?

    thanks!

No experience with the R cameras as im still rocking a couple of 5d bodies, but Adorama has been quite reputable over the years for used gear. Its been a bit since I bought used (far more common in my film gear purchases) They also have have some decent kits where they throw in memory cards and additional batteries for basically free if you buy the item new.

Not sure if you will find better than $1749 used, which is a very fair discount off new. At the ~2k price and above I would just buy it new as they are on sale for 2299 right now. https://www.adorama.com/car6m2ak.ht...wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds-google-shop-p

Thanks - it must have been a great price as the two they had are already gone!

You can buy with total confidence from Adorama, I’ve purchased much used gear and have often presented with items that were of higher grade, they are conservative and stand fully behind every item sold. If it’s not right or your disappointed in any manor they welcome a return for full refund or exchange.

i've had great service from MPB .Com here in the UK
they also have a USA store, check them out if you get stuck, also ask for feedback on the USA store experiance as i have no experiance that side of the pond

also i think the canon r6 mk 3 is on the way maybe being announced in november 6 ish? wouldn't it be better to wait till people start trading in the mk2 r6 bodies?
one thing i have seen is when there is an abundant stock of second hand models they come down in price
