Basically looking for a digital equivalency of my Kodak carousel. USB and HDMI connectivity minimum, SD card slot would be nice. I simply want to do slide shows from my SD/CF cars either directly or through a card reader. Thoughts / suggestions ? lets keep it under $200
would one of these budget wifi/usb/hdmi projectors fit the bill? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CFFL912...ac07859e7a919|B0CFFL912Q|1761249134128||&th=1 I havent used them but seems like it would be a swiss army knife to use for your needs. The name brands get speedier quickly. Article on them https://www.lifewire.com/best-home-...govpuBXyxo4LpKBrFs40GZpYbOmdsGNhoC2bcQAvD_BwE
Not only does it look like it will 'fit the bill' the model under it(YG600) looks superb as well for only $95. I will think it over a Manhattan or two and maybe 'pull the trigger' Thanks again johnsey for bringing it to me attention !
Ok, got the YG600 Plus up and running and already a hic-up. I plug a thumb drive into the USB slot that has various Jpeg pics loaded onto it, a 'index screen' comes up showing thumbnails of the pics loaded, I click on a pic to show full size and I get a error message - play error, "the file is not supported". The same message appears on whatever pic I choose. i ve called good support several times no response, emailed, same thing. I know what can one expect for eighty bucks ! Any thoughts / suggestions ??
I wouldn't worry immediately, JPEG while a common image type has many types of compression and uses a number of codecs to create the image. If these are straight out of camera, it may be worth taking a few, opening in your image editor, and exporting as a new jpeg or even jpg. And seeing if they are then read by the projector without issue. It could just not like the formatting that canon used to produce the jpeg in camera.
https://kinsta.com/blog/jpg-vs-jpeg/ functionally? none, the link goes into more detail. One value would be to keep the two version separate if your re exporting.
