    A little Canon stuff
I am off to my local camera shop, yes we still do have a local one to drop off some rolls of film this weekend, if all goes to plan. I know that second hand, they are selling an original 70-200mm f2.8, that is the non IS model, and a 70-200mm f4.0 IS. So, I am sure that I will look at both of these before I leave. They are roughly the same price used give or take a few dollars. So, I have a 7D, I like wildlife, and this is the main reason for me looking at these lenses. So does anyone have any idea about the difference in image quality? Would you see any in the real world? Also, what are the auto focus speeds like on these two lenses? Does anyone have any real world experience, or advice?

    Regards

    Gary

The image quality on all of the 70-200 L lenses is great. I don't shoot much wildlife, but I think you'll find more value in the extra stop of light with the 2.8 vs the IS. If your trying to shoot at 1/60 your less apt to be trying to capture a deer or bird moving. Also modern ISO performance is great so you can always bump that up an extra stop or so to get a shutter speed you need.
