I am not necessarily new to photography however I am new to owning my own camera. I got the EOS M100 for Christmas and am really loving it so far, however I have a question I hope can be answered.

I recently did a photo shoot, and had my camera set to only shoot in RAW, but some of my pictures came out as JPEG. Could it be because of the special effects within the camera (ex. Handheld Nighttime Scene, Grainy B&W?) However there doesn't seem to be a lot of evidence to support my theory as it seems a random assortment of photos got saved as JPEG and some random got saved as RAW.

Just to clarify so there is no confusion:
-My camera was not set up to shoot both. It was only set to shoot RAW.
-I used the Av, M, P, Hybrid Auto, Grainy B&W and Handheld Night Scene settings just because I was experimenting with my new camera, but I dont notice much correlation between the JPEG photos and the settings used, unless Hybrid Auto saves as JPEG but I dont understand why that might be.

    Thank you!

I do not own a EOS M 100 but if it is like the 60D, your shots are set in raw but when use the black and White mode are saved as a JPEG. At a guess the camera takes the photo in raw but has to process them so they come out as a JPEG, I suggest you read your camera manual or look it up in YouTube.
