I have recently acquired a Canon 1DX. Looking the Wireless File Transmitter and finding they are actually hard to find. I just skimmed the user manual online and this was way over my head unless I sit down and block the world out to understand it.

Basically I shoot sports and need to deliver photos quickly onsite. I need to be able to choose photos on the camera during an event and transfer them directly to my laptop and/or my iPad. Can this be done using the WFT-E6A?

If so, I should buy it and figure out the details later.

Any input, advice, pointers are greatly appreciated!

Yes, the WFT-E6A is designed to do exactly what you are after and it works on the 1DX Series. They are readily available and should be easy to set up. There are numerous YouTube videos on the subject.

Do the other models work with the original 1DX.? I found this one used on Adorama The other usual suspects, BH, Amazon, eBay don’t have it right now

Hello, I hope everyone is safe and well on here.
I've just acquired a WFTE6 in the UK, just having trouble setting it up. Firstly, is there a way to start the EOS3 software automatically? i.e. not have to press CMD-D every time a photograph is shot?
Secondly, and more importantly, is it possible for the image transmitted to the laptop to be edited then sent out by ftp using s different wifi? I can get the images from the 1-DX to the laptop via wireless but I then have to switch wifi's to transmit it out to the Agency?
Hope someone can help or this WFT is going up for sale!
    Thanks in advance,
