    Hi All
I purchased the above lens a couple of years ago for landscape work. I have recently been diagnosed with arthritus and a torn knee cartlige. whilst the lens is very good I'm finding it's a hefty brute to lug around and i'm terrified of damaging the front element. So i've embarked on a weight reduction exercise, new rucsack, lightweight tripod et al.
As part of this exercise I am looking at maybe swapping out the 11 to 24mm F4L for one of the Canon TS-E lenses (which is about half the weight). I'm thinking that the tilt shift capability would be very useful for landscape work.
Does anyone have any advice with regard to which of the TS-E range would be a good first purchase ?

I haven't bought a TS lens myself but if your thinking of replacing the 11-24 you need to ask where you shoot the most, if you do many architecture shots at the 24 end vs the middle of the range. The 24mm has noticably less lens protrusion, the 17mm TS has similar to your 11-24, but your going to see that with ultra wide lenses in general so you can't get away from that too much.

Thanks for that. Your are right of course, the 17 mm is just as bad in terms of front element protrusion. I think the 24mm is the best option for me, especially since other sources also say the 24 mm is a good starter lens to get used to using a tilt and shift lens.
    Thanks for your help
