working perfectly yesterday wont switch on today replaced battery taken off lens and removed sd card still no go any help welcome
did you take a voltage reading on the battery to confim it is charged? Secondly when you shut the battery door did it flash red momentarily? Chances are you have at least some juice in the battery even it it is failing, If the camera acts completely dead it indicates the door on the battery is open, the card/lens shouldn't really be an issue. Battery door has a pin that pushes in on a switch to tell the camera the battery door is shut, its a failsafe for the camera to not turn on, its the first thing i would look at to see if something is not right.
i tried a spare batt, will check the other stuff i am leaving it overnight with batt out lens off and card out will report back thanks
Please dont worry about the card and lens stuff, in fact you should always have lens on, it acts as a dust magnet with no lens and your sensor is probably covered in dust specks now. In fact you can power on with no lens specifically to trip the mirror in lock up and clean the sensor. Camera will operate with no card as well. The reason i asked if you checked voltage in the battery is because i have seen failing batteries show green on the charger. This is surely a power issue, either the battery is being read as flat dead, or it is not registering the door as shut, this applies to the battery door and the card door, both have a failsafe on providing power to the motherboard. NO amount of fussing with other items like the lens or leaving for a period of time will change or fix the problem.
