Hi, Just acquired a Canon EOS Elan film camera with three lens. One is a Tamron 28-200mm, one a Canon 28-80 Ultrasonic and one a Canon 70-210mm Ultrasonic. My question is can these lens be used on something like the Canon EOS Revel XT or a Canon EOS Digital Rebel DS6041 or another model of a Canon Digital camera with no problems (fully functional automatic mode) . I know with my Pentax cameras some of the lens off my film camera would only work in the manual mode and some would work in the automatic focus mode with limitations. Thanks,Jim

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Yes, all of your EOS film camera lens will work fine with your digital EOS body. Auto focus and all exposure modes will work without any restrictions..

Ok. Next question. Looking at the Canon Rebel series. A DS6041, a DS12071 Rebel Xt, a 20D, a Rebel XTi. Which is the best option? We're talking cheap here. Thanks, Jim

All things being equal I would get from the 20/30/40d line over a comparable rebel. that line is built more rugged than the plastic rebel and will give you more customized controls.
