    Hi,

I recently bought a used Canon 200mm f/2.8 L mk I on mail, and upon arrival I noticed that the autofocus did not work when mounted on my Canon 5D.

I want to cancel the purchase, but I need to know where problem actually lies to make the claim. This I know:
    • The lens is connected to the camera - I can adjust aperture etc. I do not get a "connection error" in the camera
    • Very faintly, I can hear short bursts of "pew pew" when autofocusing (but the focusing does not work). What does that indicate? Could the autofocus motor be stuck somehow? Here is a sample of how that sounds.
    • The lens contacts (in metal), that connects to the pins on the camera are worn -- could that be the issue? As in, the camera can not power the lens well enough (the power/current is only enough for aperture control) I attach a photo (taken with flash) on the contacts.
I will try with another camera tomorrow... but to be honest, I don't know how that would help really.

Any advice, .. Thanks in advance!
