I am thinking of switching my long lens shooting from Pentax to Canon and have noticed on the control knob on Canon bodies they don't have a TAV mode. This is how I do all my shooting now and was wondering if Canon has that capability? For Pentax TAV is I set the shutter and aperture and the camera takes care of the ISO. Maybe Canon calls it something else but I hope I will be able to shoot the same way.
On my 7D, you can set the mode to manual, and have your ISO setting set to "Auto". That should achieve what you're looking to do.
Thanks, I was looking around last night and found on the Pentax forum a thread about it also. Someone pointed out that Canon bodies don't have two control wheels on them and that's probably why they don't have a TAV mode, I had never noticed that before. I have only used Pentax DSLRs so I just thought they all had that. Hopefully within the week I will finally decide what body I want, Canon just has so many to choose from, and I'll order it and I'm sure I'll be posting more questions as I learn a new system.
