The first thing that springs to mind is what is the state of the battery? I am sure that you have charged them, but are they holding charge and or putting out enough power to start up your camera? Also, what are the terminals looking like? Are they clean?

Thanks, YES I have other EOS-1 so I have good batteries as well as new once, and each of them does work in other units yet NOTHING in that one! The small RED Light flashed once that is all, and the contact plates inside the B-Loader do look fine also. rgs

Just as a random thought. What happens if you put a fully charged battery in it over night and see what happens tomorrow. Do these cameras have an internal battery?

Well, NO old small Timer battery had still power & a brand new one also did nothing! The RED light should flicker before switch on just as the others, but NO! rgs

Check to mack sure the battery and card doors are latching properly. Cameras will not function if battery and CF card are not seated firmly and the door is not latching ...aka the door presses the button to register that the door is shut. That is my guess on what is happening here.
