EOS-800D Can I charge without removing battery

    I am a fairly new owner of an EOS-800D. Can I charge the battery without removing it from the camera, by plugging a mini-USB cable connected to a powered device (e.g. my PC) or to a USB charger? Or does this not charge the battery? Why would they not have designed it so that it could be charged like that?

    No, the battery can't be charged via a USB cable. It comes with a battery charger that plugs into a wall socket and that is how you charge the battery.
    Have you read that manual? Did it suggest any other way to charge the battery? I think not.
