So does anyone think Canon will ever introduce animal eye-tracking to the EOS R or should I start saving up for an R5/R6? I finally for to play with eye-tracking today and it worked well for me as getting a good focus on the eyes was hard for me since I am prone to not being stable. Had one OOF out of 8 shots.

    A little Canon stuff
Where is your crystal ball? Something like that would be no more than a software update. Easy enough to roll out you would think. But then does the R have the processing power for this feature, or does Canon want to keep some separation between models with this feature.

Only Canon could give you the answer for that one. Mind you, the R5 and R6 do look like nice upgrades.

I am going to be renting a R5 for this little trip. I hope it doesn't try to spoil me since I can't afford to buy one for like a year.

I don’t think there is any chance of them giving that in a firmware update, especially since it sounds like the R is discontinued.

That I have not seen yet. I saw the Ra and I think RP to be discontinued.
