I recently upgraded to a 6D Mk II. Had to intall EOS util Ver 3.x as Ver 2.x does not work with the newer camera. NOW Ver 2 does not see my older 70d anymore. Any ideas?

From what I researched, while installing V3 updates V3. You can download and install V2 and have both versions on the same workstation. The camera will then start the correct utility when it is ran.

So are you saying to re-install V2 after V3 is installed, even though V2 was never uninstalled?

Well my understanding is that v2 gets upgraded to v3, so im not sure if 3 replaced 2 or if they are both installed and can run separate unless I try it myself and I don't have a new enough camera to use v3.
The short of it is both can be installed and run on a machine separately. And they are tied to specific models instead of being cross compatible. I agree its not the cleanest solution on Canons part.

The key is you need to run version 2 first and Hit the pairing button. Allow it to pair and find the camera. Once that is done you can open three and away you go. at least that worked for me

v2 doesn't get upgraded to v3. They coexist. The annoying problem is that when I plug in the R6 the v2 starts automatically and immediately reports that it doesn't recognize the camera so I have to dismiss that dialog window which sometimes shows up under all the other windows on my screen and then manually launch v3. I was looking for a way to make v3 the default and no it's not a configuration in Windows default action for device R6, it's somewhere else. I'll find it.
