This mighty river is revered in India as Nile in Egypt and Yangtze in China. Dusty plains creates a hazy backdrop. The river starts its journey up in the eastern Himalayas and flows a length of nearly 1600 km in India and Bangladesh eventually draining to Bay of Bengal. Its width is between 10 – 38 kilometres.
