Hi Guys, About an hour ago, I stupidly tried to power my C100 via DC, but didn't check the output of said DC, which is 20V into an 8.4V input, & now the C100 won't start Also, not sure if its related, but I hadn't used the camera in around a year, & when I powered it on, it had reset itself to Chinese, which is a little odd Any Ideas? Cheers in Advance!
There is an internal lithium battery that gets charged by use that keeps the camera clock and likely language and such settings. Sounds like it goes dead if you haven't used it in a few months. The internal memory battery going wouldn't impact if camera powers on. Not sure what you used to power your camera exactly. But higher voltages can fry electronics, I would always use the battery/power cord made for the device for this reason.
Hmmm, first off, I would try to power on with the correct power module and try to reset your personal settings If it doesn't power on or you cannot reset your settings, I would not attempt anything more but take it straight away to a Canon repair station. A C-100 is too costly an equipment to try and fix it yourself. As johnsey mentioned, wrong voltages could fry electronics. Good luck.
