I recently upgraded to an EOS 5D Mark IV hoping to improve capturing of colors using filters. Right away, I found that some colors appear to be get "washed out" (much lighter, less brillant, less vibrant) in outdoor settings, mostly in the shade. Any suggestions for filters or any other accessories?
Since the industry shifted from film to digital and made my old AE-1 obsolete, I have been using an old Nikon Coolpix. I admit I have gotten lazy with keeping up with the new developments in digital (raw vs jpg). My good friend was so happy with his EOS 5D, he talked me into going to the Mark IV. With that said, I am still learning about the camera features especially how to influence the equivalent ISO, and have not studied anything else. I just need to be pointed in the right direction.
Are you able to post some images to show us what you are meaning. Also, what filters are you using? Gary
In this photo, I was trying to capture the colors of this hand-crafted dog leash (my wife's hobby). Notice the Turk's Head knots and one of the left side and the matching cords in the braid are very pale. They are a much deeper blue in color. Photo was shot with Canon 50mm F/1.4, +2 diopter magnification, and UV filter using automatic feature.
