Ok just joined hoping to find some support on this issue I’m having with my new IP8720 bought from Best Buy. So when I go to print my Airshow photos I get a line on my blue sky running north to south. Can’t figure this out. Best Buy will let me return it since it’s technically defective but I want a printer and the research said this one was probably one of the best.

I'm a bit surprised a new printer is having a banding issue. This is caused by a misaligned head, which could have happened in shipping i suppose. There are utilities to check the printer, and perform maintenance like aligning print head nozzles or cleaning them if clogged.

Here is a link to the canon site itself for this sort of issue, see if the canon program can sort it out before returning since this stuff can happen and is usually correctable. https://community.usa.canon.com/t5/Desktop-Inkjet-Printers/Pixma-iP8720-Print-Banding/td-p/253891
