    Hi,
I have EOS 90D and EF 70-200 IS USM II. Is it 'safe' to use just the (bundled) neck strap for hanging this combination of camera and lenses if attached to the body?
Lenses itself is pretty heavy so my concern is whether there can be some damage made if the lenses just 'hangs' on the camera body. I found some discussions but some people say a special equipment should be used (like BlackRapids straps attached to the lenses tripod mount instead of the camera) , while other think it's safe to just hang the camera with the lenses on
    Any experiences?
    Thanks

safe in the way of it will hang there but pleasant it might not be, i switched to a shoulder strap for the bigger 100-400mm sigma which was better but now i use a shoulder bag to carry the lens in and shoot from, either its in the bag ot i have the lens in my hand with a wrist strap, i carry the camera with the lens pointing straight down as this spreads the force across the lens mount and thats fine

other issue with the neck strap is the swinging about, might be an issue

I've used the normal strap and hung over shoulder with on hand stabilizing the lens and camera. I like peak design and the clips and rapid releases they have. I am still a bit gun shy of hanging anything from the camera mount even on a clip. I have preferred to hand grip with strap the setup and two hand it (one hand on lens) when not in bag or on tripod. I see the strap as more of a safety net.

Clearly though people use clips and support the lenses by the camera mount.
