Looking for a lens collar for EF 70-300mm IS USM ?

    Equipment:
    500D, 800D, EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM, 24mm EF-S f/2.8, EF-S 35mm f/2.8 Macro
    Hello all,

    I have a 800D with the old EF 70-300mm f4-5.6 IS USM (NOT the L version). I'm looking for a lens collar that in order to shift the anchor point.
    I'm considering a lens collar because I fear that attaching it to a tripod might damage the body/lens mount.

    My questions are:
    - Does anyone have an opinion on the body+lens being too front-heavy for using the bodys' tripod mount?
    - Does anyone know of a collar I could buy that has the right diameter?

    try typing in :universal lens collar into ebay see if any of those will fit, quite alot come up.
