    Canon R8, 24-105mm f4, 35mm f/1.8, 85mm f/2, 100-400mm f/5.6-8
I looked at Canon's compatibility chart
Canon : Compatible Accessories : Flash Units
and I didn't see it addressed. I sometimes do a little macro photography and I have a MT-24EX that I use with the RF 35mm IS STM it mounts right on the front of the lens just like the older EF 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro.
The 24EX worked with my RP, but I can't find if it will also work with the R8.

    Any idea if it work?
    Thanks in advance

I suspect it should work fine like your RP I would expect, when shoe mounted canon has been pretty backwards compatible with most features.
Your ring flash is from the EX II generation of flashes and dslrs where everything was optical. The big change late in dslr and now in mirrorless is that the gear went to radio (RT) transmission. You will notice everything listed in the table is the modern RT gear.like the MT26.
Now if your planning to use off camera flashes as well they would have to be manually setup as optical slaves since your not utilizing a full RT setup.

MX24ex did not have good search results, but if i compare the exII results there may be a pin issue in the shoe, and require that mentioned adapter. You will know pretty quick once you get an R8 or any newer r series in hand.
