I use my Rebel 6i/750D to photograph birds at a local reserve. Settings are AI Servo, manual, RAW, auto ISO, 1/1600 shutter speed, single point focus and burst mode. Sometimes a bird will suddenly take to the air but it is difficult to track with the small black focus rectangle so most are missed.

It would be better to use multi-point focus if it could be done quickly so as not to miss the shot, There are two buttons to access the focus mode – AF area selection and AF point selection buttons; which is the better button to use. Maybe choose the 19 point selection, but would that work for burst mode, also can a button be customised to go instantly to that mode rather than waste a few milliseconds scrolling through.
