TL;DR: Shutter speed adjustment in manual mode on Canon R6 physically clicks but the digital indicator doesn't always reflect how many clicks / moves on its own in the opposite direction. ------ Hello, I am having an issue with my Canon EOS R6 (MK I). I do a lot of bracketing for real estate, architecture, and interior shoots. I usually space exposures out by 2 stops. When I shoot arch/interiors I often do this by hand rather than by auto-bracketing so I have more control and am paying more attention to the details of the dynamic range and other details in the frame. On a recent shoot where my main camera (5D IV) was not usable due to a tech issue, I started using the R6 instead, which I normally use just for video. When I was adjusting the shutter speed in Manual stills mode, I noticed that I was ending up on 1/3 stops here and there rather than full stop increments after doing say, 6 clicks of the dial. I watched closer and it appeared that some of my clicks were being reversed by 1/3 - 2/3 of a stop. So I'd click through a full stop (three clicks) but then the exposure indicated would walk back -1/3. It also did this in reverse when I underexposed - it would sometimes go +1/3. Sometimes it would also appear to not register the clicks but I think maybe it was just reversing it too quickly for me to see on the screen. Not entirely sure though. But this really threw off my workflow. I tried troubleshooting with a Canon rep. Tried a ton of settings, different lenses (both manual and autofocus options, tilt shift and zoom varieties). No change. Also tried a ton of different settings changes from autofocus type, metering type and more obscure stuff that the rep suggested. The only thing I didn't try was using an RF lens because I do not own one. All EF lenses were adapted via a Canon EF/RF adapter. All lenses were Canon as well - no third party. ISO is always on manual unless shooting video (we double checked during troubleshooting and it was set to manual) We also upgraded the firmware which was out of date. It is now on the newest firmware but there was no change after that. Finally, worth noting is that I do not think it is a physical issue with the shutter speed dial because when I changed the shooting mode from Manual to Av, the issue stopped: specifically, the dial usually mapped to shutter speed in Manual mode was remapped to aperture in Av and every time I changed the aperture via that same dial, the setting stayed on the exact aperture setting that I left it on (no drifting in either direction). This was happening in a room with consistent lighting when I was testing it but it also happened while I was on location a few days earlier, and continues. I think it may have been a problem for a while but I never use the camera like this so I am only noticing it now. Could this be a firmware issue that has not been addressed by Canon yet or could it be an issue with the adapter? Or something else? Both the Canon rep and I are stumped. Thank you.
