    Hi

I just received my canon 600 f4 mk3 lens. This is my second canon 600 f4. I purchased my previous lens in 2004 and used it till this year when I decided to finally upgrade to the newer and lighter mk III lens. In my new lens there is a rattle inside like something is loose. I have only used the lens once and it didn't rattle nor did it affect the sharpness. The agents say this is normal and is associated with the image stabilizer motor. Has anyone else experienced this and is this actually normal? Thanks in advance

I have an ancient 300mm f2.8 non IS lens and it has a "clunk" in it more than a rattle. I was told by Canon here that it is normal. The images from it is exceptional "L" quality so I kept on truckin and been happy since.

According to canon Sri Lanka and Singapore, this is normal. This is very unnerving

I would not be worried at all if its a slight rattle. IS by its nature is a floating lens element controlled by motors. There should be give in the mechanical parts associated with that.

thanks, that's what canon says, but the rattle scares me, never had this problem with any of my other IS lens
