This is an image I took a few months back when I got my EF 75-300mm lens. I did not process it at the time but on reviewing it again I decided that it deserved further attention. I hope you like it. Taken on Canon EOS-1Ds.

Nice shot Ray, I have the same lens and it is my second most used lens, especially for closeup bird and wildlife shots.

Thank you, Craig. It certainly was good value for money. Not very expensive but it produces good images when handled correctly.

Ray, do you have any of the "L" series lenses?
Not sure if the price they go for are worth it for me, the typical hobbyist....

Your question is very timely, Ron. No, I do not have any L-Series lenses at this moment....
But I will be collecting one in about 3 hours. By the end of the day I should have a Canon 17-40mm f4 which I managed to get at a price that I would have been crazy to walk away from.

L-Series lenses have an awesome reputation and I am very much looking forward to having one of my own. Will it be my only one? Who knows??

You can't only just own one L lens Ray.

C0EW2610.jpg The EF 17-40mm f4L has arrived. Here's my first image. Nothing special, just making sure that it works! No through road.

Ray, you have run into the age old problem, you have when you get a new lens and you take your first photo with it, there is never anything outstanding around to shoot.

Yes, you are right, Craig. I just took a few steps from my back door. It can only get better than this shot!
